ACTRA Toronto Performers

March 29, 2005

Canadian Actors' Equity Association
44 Victoria Street, 12th Floor
Toronto, ON
M5C 3C4

Attention: Susan E. Wallace, Executive Director

Dear Susan,

I read with interest the update on the status of your negotiations with Blue Man Group. It is disappointing that an engager should attempt to mount a production in Equity's jurisdiction while refusing to negotiate a fair and appropriate contract to secure the services of Equity's members. Let me assure you that your efforts to bring this producer to the bargaining table have the full support of ACTRA Toronto Performers.

I have asked our staff to update our website to include details about your upcoming boycott campaign and to suggest ways that ACTRA Toronto members can demonstrate their support.

Unfortunately April 5th is the date of our Council meeting and a lengthy agenda will prevent Toronto Councillors from attending your launch at the St. Lawrence Centre. I will, however, make sure that ACTRA Toronto Performers is represented at the event, I believe that Stephen Waddell, ACTRA'S National Executive Director is also planning to attend.

Please keep me informed of your progress in this matter and let me know of any further assistance that you require.

In Solidarity,
Karl Pruner
