American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada (AFM)
April 1, 2005

Bill Skolnik, Executive Director
Toronto Musicians' Association
15 Gervais Drive, Suite 500
Toronto, ON M3C 1Y8

Dear Executive Director Skolnik:

Re: Toronto Blue Man Group Boycott

I am disappointed to learn that representatives of the Toronto production of Blue Man Group have refused Local 149's requests to enter into good faith negotiations with the intent of establishing an Agreement covering the production. I find it unconscionable that a U.S. based corporation would expect to operate in a foreign country without respect for long established and accepted business sector standards.

Rest assured that the Federation is in full support of your efforts and those of your CAEA and IATSE colleagues that stand with you. We will inform our Locals and the more than 100,000 members that we represent of our decision. Further, we will strongly encourage them to request that their families and friends also not patronize the Toronto Blue Man Group production.

I look forward to joining you and Vice-President from Canada Bobby Herriot in person on Tuesday, April 5th in support of the official launch of the boycott.

Yours in solidarity,

Thomas F. Lee
